ClearFunds is an independent investment architecture practice established to provide design, manufacture, monitoring and distribution services for Defined Return Profile Solutions.
Background
There is a growing realisation that traditional 'long only' products may not allow investors to achieve the goals they require from their investment portfolios. The level of risk and volatility to which they expose themselves is often unquantifiable and unacceptable.
The traditional methodology of combining equity and bond products to produce risk graded portfolios has not delivered it’s objectives over the last 10 years and the market is ripe for alternative solutions.
There is a growing demand from Advisers for products that quantify output and which allow investors to meet their objectives with clarity and confidence.
Mike has spent over 21 years in the equity and credit derivatives market in both investment banking and fund management roles. After Leaving Nomura International in 1991, where he was an Equity Derivatives specialist, he moved to John Govett & Co. Ltd. Mike was responsible for the co-design, fund management and support of several of the first UK Authorised Futures and Options Funds and onshore and open-ended protected investment funds. As a founder member of Close Fund Management Ltd he helped develop a larger and more sophisticated range of protected investment vehicles and fixed term structured products. Mike was latterly Head of Derivatives and Structured products at Henderson Global Investors where he covered institutional and retail structuring and fund management operating within both equity and fixed income asset classes.
Has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services Industry, beginning his career in the city with the Capital Markets Division of Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1988. After leaving Andersen's in 1991 he worked as a fund manager, specialising in Derivatives, Structured Products and Quantitative Investment methods for John Govett and Close Brothers, where he was part of the team that created Close Fund Management in 1995. Since 2003, he has worked as a part-time consultant enabling him to follow a career as an artist. He has a PhD in Physics from King's College, London.
